The Faculty of Medicine is a member of the University of Ljubljana. It is divided into undergraduate and postgraduate departments within the Section of General Medicine and the Dental Medicine Section. Both sections educate students on the undergraduate as well as post-graduate level. Lectures are organised at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ljubljana and in public health institutions with the status of educational institutions. After graduation, candidates are awarded the title Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Dental Medicine. The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ljubljana also provides postgraduate programmes leading to a doctorate. Additionally, the Faculty participates in undergraduate and post-graduate study programmes at other universities and colleges, members of the University of Ljubljana. The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ljubljana also engages in scientific and research work in accordance with the programme issued by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport. It participates in national and international scientific projects. The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ljubljana is involved in international cooperation programmes of medical disciplines, serving as top professionals in areas covered by its institutes.
