M.A. Agriculture in University of Maribor | Maribor, Slovenia

The master programme in Agriculture lasts two academic years (four semesters). The first semester is devoted to providing students with scientific backgrounds of compulsory and elective study modules. The second (compulsory modules) and third semester (elective modules) intend to broaden the expertise of participants in different specific disciplines of agriculture. The fourth semester is devoted to research work and preparation of Master thesis. The Master programme and its elective fields of specialization enable students to tailor their own courses by selecting optional specialization and elective modules. The selection of elective modules is subjected to approval by postgraduate study commission. Requirements Candidates who completed the following may apply for the master's (2nd-cycle) programme “Agriculture”: A bachelor’s (1st-cycle) programme in the following field: agriculture, forestry and fishery (62); A bachelor’s (1st cycle) programme in one of the following fields: life sciences (42), physical sciences (44), engineering and engineering trades (52), medicine (721) and economics (314). Prior to enrolment, candidates must fulfil study obligations corresponding to 30 ECTS under the undergraduate programme “Agriculture and Environment”: fruit production, viticulture, ornamentals, biosystems engineering, animal science I and genetics.“Fruitgrowing” (4 ECTS), “Viticulture” (4 ECTS), “Vegetable Production” (3 ECTS), “Agriculture Engineering” (4 ECTS), “Breeding Domestic AnimalsI” (6 ECTS), “Genetics” (5 ECTS); “Cell Biology” (4 ECTS); A bachelor’s vocational programme adopted prior to 11 June 2004 in the following field: agriculture, forestry and fishery (62); A bachelor’s vocational programme adopted prior to 11 June 2004 in one of the following fields: life sciences (42), physical sciences (44), engineering and engineering trades (52), medicine (721) and economics (314). These candidates are awarded 60 ECTS credits and may enrol in the second year provided they satisfy the transfer criteria laid down in the accredited degree programme; An undergraduate programme adopted prior to 11 June 2004 in one of the following fields: life sciences (42), physical sciences (44), engineering and engineering trades (52), medicine (721) and economics (314). These candidates are awarded 30 ECTS credits and may enrol in the corresponding year; A bachelor’s vocational programme adopted prior to 11 June 2004 and a specialisation programme adopted prior to 11 June 2004 in the following field: agriculture, forestry and fishery (62).
