Requirement for studying in Slovenia

You’ve reached the final decision of becoming an international student and just have to get started on applying for a university abroad. Are you too afraid to begin the process and keep postponing it? Well, no need to stress out: the sooner you start searching for information and begin with the application process for a university degree, the higher the chances you will be accepted to the ONE university that you dream about. Applying to a university, whether it is in Europe, the U.S., China or anywhere else, it is not as complicated as you may think. You just have to pay attention to a few details and prepare all the necessary documents as soon as possible. Important and useful tips when you apply for a university abroad 1. Even if you have set a clear goal that you want to be a student of a certain university, it is always best and wise to apply to at least three universities, even if they are in different locations abroad. 2. Check and read the academic requirements carefully to figure out the probability of being accepted to the university. If you don’t have a clear idea about the requirements, you can contact the department of international students or an advisor from the university. 3. Usually, you can apply through the website of the university directly and submit all the required documents or send them by post. In some countries, you can apply through a specific online platform that is easier to use and also gives you the possibility to apply to more universities at once. Some of these websites include additional features that can help you choose your degree, especially if you’re not 100% sure of your future field of study, and you can also find useful information about the country. 4. When you apply to more universities simultaneously, through various online systems, make sure you follow the exact steps and place the names of the universities that you want to apply to in the order of your preferences. 5. Some universities will require a motivation letter. You will find many examples on the internet on how a motivation letter should look like. However, it would be better for you to stand out a bit. So you should try to be as honest as possible, and share all your experiences that are connected to the academic requirements and your future study programme. 6. All documents have to be officially translated into the official language of the respective country and legally authenticated by a competent authority. Distinctive application requirements of universities in Europe, China or the U.S. Some countries have specific requirements or rules for international students; if you are from the EU and apply to a university from an EU country as well, the application process is more likely to be easier and receive a reply faster than if you were a non-EU student. That is just one example. Slovenian way of life

Over a third of the population lives in towns and cities of more than ten thousand inhabitants. Slovenia’s largest city is its capital, Ljubljana. Other major cities are Maribor, Celje, Koper and Novo mesto. Most people can enjoy some advantages of both rural and urban lifestyles at the same time. Slovenians like to build holiday homes in natural settings, away from urban areas, in order to improve the quality of life.

A great majority of Slovenians live in their own flats or houses and the share of homeowners is among the highest in Europe. Households are not large: a third of the population lives in four-member households, and over a fifth in three-member households. Recently, the share of those living as couples or alone has increased considerably.

Sport is important; Slovenians are traditionally very keen on mountain hiking and climbing. There is a great variety of mountaineering options. The mountain hiking trails are well-tended and marked. No wonder that Slovenia's highest mountain, Mount Triglav (2,864 meters or 9,396 feet), became a symbol of Slovenia.

All outdoor activities are very popular. Increasingly, people want to stay fit, and out of all outdoor activities, walking, cycling, jogging and other sports practiced by health-conscious people are very popular. Every Slovenian town has its ‘home summit’, which is usually a small mountain popular with the locals.
